bulimia nervosa pictures

Bulimia nervosa symptoms are characterized by the person binging and purging(vomiting)their food. People with Bulilmia Nervosa have a poor self-image and this disorder is part of that. Men as well as women do suffer from this type of eating disorder.

Many of us are all too familiar with the rollercoaster of dieting and bulimia nervosa for some is a way to finally get off this up and down fluctuation. Many bulimics have dieted before however they have not maintained success. So this time, they start the dieting again, only this time, extreme measures are taken to try and achieve their desired body image.

Quite surprisingly a fair amount of men have also been identified as bulimic. Infact eating disorders in men are becoming more and more common place.

Bulimic nervosa symptoms also manifest in some people with the characteristics of compulsion. When they eat, they do it in secret and are out of control. They eat until they have stuffed as much food into their body's that they can. The binging can be due to emotional stress within their peer group or at home.

After eating as much as they can, they will immediately vomit. Vomiting removes the evidence that they were ever out of control in the first place. Even after normal meals they will excuse themselves and go to the bathroom where they force themselves to throw up.
